Is this your kitchen? I love it! The folk touch and the framed candies are so beautiful. Have you painted over your wall's tiles? Sorry for being so curious but this is just an adorable corner.

How delightfully colorful. A nice change from the Christmas pallette. Thanks for the cheer!

Thank you all ,I'm happy you like my kitchen, warm colors and folk elements make me so happy when I have to cook!!
Hi Karen!I'm glad you asked, yes, these are painted tiles.I had awful tiles (and still have them on the other wall) covering almost entire space up to the ceiling (they use to put them this way in Italy and Spain in the past). I was wondering what to do with them for ages, and then I realize that simple wall tempera covers them perfectly and that no matter how messy I can be in the kitchen, actually I never threw chicken leg against the wall, so hopefully I won't need all that tiles! Thank goodness, I use to feel like in an empty swimming pool, before ;)

Love all the colour in the kitchen!! I am curious to know if you painted the wooden spoons yourself and if so, do you use them? I would like to know what kind of paint would work.

Hi Henriette, I painted those on the left side few years ago, while the red and the blue one are gifts from Hungary.Unfortunately I can't use them for cooking but only for salads and similar cold meals :(

Somebody pointed out you site to me after I had co-incidentally done a similar thing with stripes to you.http://julieoakley.blogspot.com/2010/02/southwold-palette.html
but I noticed that we also have the same taste in packaging see http://julieoakley.blogspot.com/2009/01/sweets-from-venice.html
